About Me

I am a wife and mommy, with a background in corporate health, training and account mgmt.  I am now completing my Masters in Health Education.

I've had the opportunity to live all over the US and overseas, but have learned home is where my family is, and right now that is in the city of Mobile, AL.

As long as I can remember I have been passionate about food and hungry for life.

I have always believed proactive health to be our best medicine. With a tremendous appreciation for the the "wonder drugs" of nutrition and exercise, a craving for competitive racing, and a fascination with every new food documentary, I thought I was well on my way to feeling fit and fabulous for decades to come...

Then out of the blue, my whole world shifted. At age 29, I suddenly found a lump in my breast and another in my underarm.  My worst fear was a reality.  I heard the words "You have cancer. Stage 2B or 3A and the most aggressive form."

From the minute of the diagnosis, my healing journey was ON. My eyes were opened WIDE to how much I truly have to learn in this dynamic life... about the toxins we encounter on a daily basis... the true vulnerability of the human body... and the power of a whole foods plant-based diet.

Conventional yet barbaric treatments, alternative styles of healing, and purposeful changes to my lifestyle have paid off tremendously in defeating the bastard of a disease.

But life after cancer will never be the same... I have accepted and embraced a new normal.  It is my duty to myself, to my family, to those I love... to keep the beast at bay by changing the environment in which the disease took root to begin with.

Unexpectedly, I, as well as many of my family members and friends have graciously flourished off a new level of vitality we never knew existed.

For me, I don't plan to let that go...

If you are impassioned, interested or open to learn on any of the following topics, this blog is for you!  Here is what I will explore:
  • Benefits of Whole Foods Plant-Based lifestyle, how-to make it EZ, and how-to entice the whole family including carniverous husbands, picky toddlers, and you!
  • How to dramatically reduce toxic exposure and chemical sensitivities from our surroundings
  • Alternative approaches to healing and well-being
  • Getting back to Nature via cooking, gardening, yoga, barefoot running, consuming less and doing more
Travel with me as I continue this evolution and share my findings.

I cannot WAIT to learn from you along the way.

We have so much to do together to help heal our broken food system, embrace new habits, avoid unneccesary and often preventable chronic disease processes..... and to MAX OUT the gift that is this LIFE!!.

Much Love and Cheers to Whole Living!!!
